Abstract

The article presents a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials on the effectiveness of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy for the treatment of suspected Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)-Related Chronic Laryngitis (CL). The analysis used random effects model with standard approaches to quality assessment, sensitivity analysis and an exploration of heterogeneity and publication bias. PPI therapy offer a nonsignificant clinical benefit over placebo in patients with GERD-related CL.
