Abstract

The article discusses the personality and personal history of Apple Inc.'s chief executive officer, Steve Jobs, and notes the potential risk for the company and investors because of Jobs' nature. Jobs is described as a creative tyrant and is likened to Leon Trotsky. Apple's backdating stock options is noted. Jobs' pancreatic cancer and his refusal to disclose it to investors until after treatment is considered. Apple has been ranked as one of the least philanthropic companies in the U.S.
