Abstract
- This paper examines the relationship between specialisation patterns in science, technology and economic performance in Norway by using the following indicators: business R&D specialisation, economic specialisation in terms of value-added and employment, and scientific publications involving Norwegian industry compared with scientific publication patterns in the country. Important economic sectors have been identified and their research and publication output analysed. It is demonstrated that these sectors are unusually active in research activities compared to EU15.
