Abstract

The article discusses the impact of agricultural farm industry to global climatic changes. Studies reveal that the world's agricultural meat industry contributes 5.7 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide and 6.3 gigatonnes come from forest destruction. It reveals that animal agriculture releases the deadliest greenhouse gases, methane from cow's stomach and nitrous oxide from animal manure and use of nitrogen fertilizer. To solve the problem, mankind must learn to eat less meat and dairy, turning to the tastes, pleasures and health benefits of vegetarian food. Research shows that the destruction of the world's tropical rainforests releases 17 percent of the world's carbon emissions so they must do their share to protect the forests in the Amazon, Congo and Indonesia.
