Abstract
- The article reports on a study regarding consumption of hydrogenated vegetable oils (HVOs) versus nonhydrogenated vegetable oils (non-HVOs), risk of insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome among Iranian adult women. It found that there is a significant association between HVO consumption, risk of insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome among the subjects. Meanwhile, higher intakes of non-HVOs are said to be linked with lower risk of insulin resistance.
