MODAL ESTIMATES OF SERVICES BARRIERS.

The article presents Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Trade Policy working paper titled "Modal Estimates of Services Barriers," by Nora Dihel and Ben Shepherd. It demonstrates improved approaches to measurement of services barriers by using alternative weighting methods and improved econometric specifications, such as data that include barriers affecting each mode of services supply and additional sector-specific regulatory variables. It provides illustration of improvements for banking, insurance, telecom, and distribution services in selected countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
