Abstract: The article highlights the results of a study on the patient factors influencing conversion from laparoscopically assisted to open surgery for colorectal cancer. The study has shown that extent of tumour spread from the muscularisis propria is predictive of conversion, conforming that patients who have a conversion frequently have more advanced disease.
