Abstract
- The article offers information about the behavior of steroid hormones and conjugates during wastewater treatment. Three sewage treatments have been compared. These wastewater treatment plants contributed in the contamination of urban surface waters with steroid hormones. The experiments ran for four weeks which resulted to decreased concentrations of ethinylestradiol and mestranol. It suggests that the production of the wastewater treatment plants are different and were not credited to the size of the plants.
