Abstract
- The article discusses surgery performed to treat the first case of ascending aortic aneurysm (AAA) combined with lipomatous hypertrophy. The patient was a 67-year-old woman with increasing shortness of breath on exertion. An electrocardiographic examination revealed an ascending aortic aneurysm with a 5.5cm mass, which suggested an atrial tumor. An atriotomy revealed a 2.5cm tumor. A 28mm Dacron graft was used to perform a supracoronary ascending aortic replacement.
