Abstract

The article discusses the issue of informal employment. It has been said that the debate of this concept has started when the "International Labor Organization (ILO) World Employment Programme," a publication of Kenya report had launched in 1972 and the contribution of Hart in 1973 influenced views. It presented the nature of informality on both employers and employee which according to the author had been contributed with poverty, education and employment references. It provides a fresh look at the determinants of informal employment based on the individual reasoning which motivated by the recent interest in employment and development by the policy community and the views of the academic debate that suggested labor market within the informal sectors.
