Abstract

The article reveals the impact of global warming on Arctic ice. Global warming is a worldwide rise in average temperature. The Arctic is warming twice as fast as most other places. As a result, ice is melting. In one recent year, the Arctic lost ice the size of Texas. Each year, the ice thins earlier in spring. It breaks apart sooner too. The pieces, called ice floes, are getting smaller. These changes mean trouble for animals. Polar bears are an example of what is happening.
