Abstract

The article presents the report of Great Britain-based GW Pharmaceuticals PLC regarding the beneficial effect of Sativex, a drug developed from cannabis, on peripheral neurophathic pain. GW stated that the drug had demonstrated a superiority to placebo in reducing neuropathic pain. Improvements were also viewed in the neuropathic pain scale composite score, sleep disturbance, and patients global impression of change. Further, it notes that the trial involved 125 patients with neuropathic pain.
