Abstract

The author focuses on Indian spices and discusses their healing properties. He mentions that many of the spices have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, prodigestive and heart-protective powers. He thinks that spices produce healthful results when added to food representing five tastes: astringent, bitter, pungent, salty and sweet. Some of the spices and their health benefits are mentioned, including as cumin, coriander and mustard seeds.
