Chapter 3: Behind the Numbers: Social Mobility, Regional Disparities, and New Trajectories of Development in Rural Vietnam.

Chapter 3 of the book "Social Inequality in Vietnam & the Challenges to Reform," is presented. It explores the emerging regional disparities and trends in rural development in Vietnam. The structural economic reforms initiated by the country starting in the 1990s allegedly have spatial and regional impacts. It considers questions such how can rural inter-regional inequality in the country be characterized and whether the benefits of economic growth are being experienced equally in regions around the country.
