Experimental Validation of Perfumery Ternary Diagram Methodology.

The article details a study which evaluated the new methodology based on Perfumery Ternary Diagram® (PTD®) that is used to predict the odor value (OV) of a perfume mixture. Using a perfume test mixture of limonene, geraniol, vanillin and ethanol, the authors validated the methodology through experimental measurements of odor threshold values and headspace concentrations. They examined the influence of the odor threshold values on the PTD® and compared the experimental OV values with OV values predicted by the PTD® model.
