Abstract
- The article discusses the use of membrane technology in removing water contaminants during reclamation. It notes that the types of membrane processes are microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis (RO) and membrane bioreactor (MBR). It states that the use of MBR showed effective scouring and a low membrane-fouling rate. It stresses that RO has been commonly used in water reclamation and desalination due to its high-productivity and low-cost antifouling polyamide thin-film composite membranes.
