Abstract

The article discusses the study on the importance of hemodynamic parameters in cardiogenic shock (CS). It shows that stroke volume index (SVI) and stroke work index (SWI) are the most powerful hemodynamic predictors of 30-day mortality in CS patients. It also notes that the early hemodynamic stability after initial medical stabilization should not delay revascularization since long term outcomes are superior with early vascularization.
