Abstract

The article focuses on the legal implications of recklessly passing HIV to sexual partners in Great Britain. The law in England and Wales cites that individuals can only be convicted if there is a proof that they are the source of infection acquired by their partners. It states that the process of proving HIV transmission is very difficult and it relies on phylogenetic analysis. The author argues that the law treats anyone who had engaged in unprotected sex as potential criminals.
