Abstract

The article looks into the status of the use of traditional medicine in rural settlements in Asturias, Spain. According to the study, traditional medicine is still being used in developed countries with a universal health care systems. It has been noted that the origin of knowledge of traditional medicine is oral and direct learning within the family. In addition, it has been suggested that the valuable source of knowledge of traditional medicine which is a very should be preserved. However, the knowledge is threatened by the lack of communication and learning to the younger generations.
