Abstract
- The article reports that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced they plan to allow pharmaceutical companies to market "off-label" uses of their drugs in December 2007. The practice allows sales representatives an opportunity to espouse uses of their products beyond those for which they gained FDA approval. Critics warn of potential ethics violations and fewer clinical trials.
