Abstract
- The article reports on the comments elicited by Ross Garnaut's report on Australia and its relations with Northeast Asian countries particularly Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. In his report, he suggested that Australia should not be threatened by the growing economies of these countries but rather it should establish a beneficial relationship with them. The report suggests that Australia should adopt a set of appropriate policies that focuses on education and research that helps in the understanding of the language, cultures, and economics of Asia. The article mentions five papers published within the issue that are drawn from the Garnaut Report.
