Abstract

The article discusses the political issues in Australia in 1994. It provides information on the country's cabinet system, which was governed by Paul Keating II, as well as list of cabinet members. It states that since 1942, the country has not conducted a federal and general elections except in the Northern Territory (NT). It cites that NT is comprised of 4,000 electors and governed by the Country Liberal Party (CLP). In addition, the country has carried out 12 state by-elections within the period brought by the murder and resignations of its political leaders. On May 23, Alexander Downer has replaced John Hewson as the leader of the Liberty Party. Issues on unemployment, budget deficit, airport noise and forestry in the country are discussed.
