Copyright and Fair Use of Multimedia Resources.

The article presents information on copyright laws in the U.S. and fair use of multimedia resources. It states that the application of fair use in higher education is based on the idea that the basic mission of higher education is to advance and disseminate knowledge. It analyses the international scenario with respect to copyright protection and fair use in the digital era. It talks about the U.S. legislative efforts to implement World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) treaties, particularly the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
