Tourism in South America: A Brief Overview.

Abstract

The article focuses on the state of tourism in different regions of the world particularly South America. Tourism in South America is influenced by several factors including political changes, economic instability, increasing social problems, safety problems and security problems. In 1990s, the international tourism industry proved to be one of the most resilient economic sectors despite wars, terrorism, armed conflicts, and economic crises. International tourist arrivals increased by 5.6% in 1996, according to the World Tourism Organization (WTO). It states that tourism in South America got up after the Second World War.
