Abstract

The article provides information on the constitutional and political events occurred in Great Britain in 1990. It traces the issues concerning the sudden removal from office of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher such as the resignation of British Conservative politician Geoffrey Howe, followed by his outspoken attack on the Prime Minister. In connection, the article also discusses the rules, conduct and propriety of leadership election on November 29, 1990 in which Thatcher lost her position to John Major who became the youngest Prime Minister of the century.
