Abstract

The article examines the immigration and demographic balance in Israel and its occupied territories. According to an Israeli government publication, 1990 is a historical year of aliya (immigration) as approximately 200,000 immigrants arrived in the country. Its impact on the Israeli national vision is considered. Information about the Six-Day War in June 1967, threat to the liberal-demographic values, Jewish immigration from the Soviet Union since the second world war and immigration patterns is futher presented.
