The Structure of Social Security and Medicare.

This article summarizes a series of papers, which examine the structure of social security and Medicare in the U.S. Specifically, the papers determine features of social security and Medicare that affect saving and labor force participation in the country's economy. One paper entitled "Has the Unified Budget Undermined the Federal Government Trust Funds?" investigated whether the purposes of the 1983 Social Security reform has been accomplished.
