Predictors of Comprehensive Surgical Treatment in Patients With Ovarian Cancer.

The article provides information on a study which evaluated the surgical treatment received by patients with ovarian cancer in nine U.S. states. The study identified the patient, physician, ecologic and hospital-based factors associated with receipt of comprehensive surgical treatment. The research also addressed the issue concerning the absence of published information on the percentage of patients with ovarian cancer in the U.S. who receive surgical care from physicians who perform high volumes of ovarian cancer surgery.
