Abstract

The article reports on the concern raised by the attendees during the Paper Division meeting of the Bureau of International Recycling in the U.S. about higher freight rates, volatile American dollar and increased oil prices. According to Ranjit Baxi, the president of the Paper Division, European exporters to main Asian ports have been facing freight increases. Also, Taiwan had banned the export of recovered fiber but China will look for replacement of about 50,000 metric tons per year.
