Abstract
- This article focuses on the relations between Danes and Germans in German Nordmark during the period 1890-1933. The purpose of this discussion is to serve as a case study for analyzing two competing models of liberal integration. These models are assimilationist and multiculturalist. It argues, contrary to claims in Europe regarding intolerance and impracticality of an assimilationist model, that the application of multiculturalist models are problematic. It also presents a historical perspective of German and Danes relations in Nordmark.
