Abstract

This section offers information on licensing in Brazil. The country's Industrial Property Code revised patent protection, which ended the non-patentability of food, chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology products in Brazil. It states that the National Institute of Industrial Property has increased its enforcement efforts to address the problem of trademark infringement. It is inferred that negotiating licenses in the country has become easier as such agreements gain more adherents. INSETS: Intellectual-property law;Recent licensing agreements.
