Abstract

The author reflects on the use of in general practitioners' (GP) release course. He notes how the registrars were moved and energized by their poetry seminars. He believes that poetry can enhance their capacity for empathy with patients. Furthermore, he thinks that program directors should learn to make art a part of medical personnel's education.
