School and College Students' Attitudes Toward Military Service.

The article examines the attitudes of school and college students toward military service in Russia. In 2004, two sociological surveys were conducted including one covering school students in Tiumen during their period of field training assemblies and the other covering college students. According to the findings, there has been a substantial increase in the number of school students and college students who take a negative attitude toward military service. Both groups stated that the main difficulties of military service include harassment, and the great physical, nervous, and emotional stresses.
