Abstract

This article reports on the shifting reliance on computer network resources such at Google, blogs and websites for information on political candidates. The author comments on reports showing as many as one third of Americans using the Internet to view or exchange political information during the 2006 midterm elections. The Internet's influence on politics has led to Yahoo hosting an online presidential debate with partner websites such as "The Huffington Post" and "Slate" hosting the follow-up content. Further discussion of grass roots political participation is chronicled.
