Abstract
- The article presents a comparison of the political perspectives of Toryism and socialism evident in the narrative of serializations of Henry Mayers Hyndman's fiction carried by "Justice," the Social Democratic Federation's (SDF) periodical published in London in 1884-1925. Another fiction entitled "A Working Class Tragedy," published under the name H. J. Bramsbury is also discussed. This article argues that this novel was written by Hyndman under a pseudonym in order to attract and maintain support for his and SDF's socialism.
