Abstract

The article focuses on U.S corporate management and how companies develop leaders. Using American Express' chief executive officer Ken Chenault as an example, the article describes how companies design leadership-development programs. These corporate programs also produce prominent entrepreneurs as businessmen such as Microsoft Corp.'s Steve Ballmer, eBay's Meg Whitman, and Intuit founder Scott Cook emerged from Procter & Gamble's management program.
