Abstract

The article presents a criticism and appreciation of sixteenth century Japanese painting by Konoe Nobutada. Artistic masterpieces include the ink-and-color-on-paper hanging scroll "Hitomaro" at the Masaki Art Museum, the silk hanging scroll "Tenjin" at the Okayama Prefecture Museum of Art, and ink-on-paper scroll "Daruma".
