Abstract
- The article presents an account of the history of the town of Pistoia in Italy. It discusses the foreign influences of the town's architecture, particularly with regards to its churches. It also highlights the impact of the swift changes of Italian politics in the Middle Ages and Renaissance on Pistoia's literary and philosophical history, and the intervention of the Normans on religious issues.
