Abstract
- The author reflects on the old American landscape photographs which shows the condition of the United States in the nineteenth century. He believes that the United States has been damaged due to a series of invasions and modernization. He declares that viewing early pictures is not a hopeless nostalgia but a reminder that the scene could still be brought back to life again. Aspects of space projected by early photographs such as silence, resistance and speed were also discussed.
