Abstract
- The article presents a study that evaluated the static stability of flowing and self-consolidating (SCC) concrete. Due to the critical function of segregation of coarse aggregate in concrete materials in determining their mechanical properties, the study was conducted to develop a rapid methodology for estimating segregation during the dormant period of cement hydration using a multi-pair electrode conductivity method. Results of the segregation during cement hydration and actual segregation on hardened concrete showed a high degree of correlation. It was concluded that the conductivity approach is an effective tool in evaluating the static stability after concrete placement.
