Abstract
- The article presents the story of teenage mother Charlie Rose from Austin, Texas. The University of Texas Social Work for Research tracks Rose's transition from high school to her freshman year in college. They believe that Rose is a perfect example that a teenage mother can also be a successful parent, student and community member. Rose received support services from the Adolescent Family Life Care Program, a project financed by the U.S. Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs implemented by the Austin Learning Academy. She also participated in the Gonzalo Garza Independence High School where pregnant and parenting teenagers received services such as onsite day care, professional development and self-paced learning.
