Abstract

The article describes rivers and lakes that have produced catfish weighing more than 100 pounds. Lake Texoma is an 89,000-acre reservoir that has produced several 100-pound-plus blues, including a 116-pounder caught on a trotline, a 118.5-pounder taken by a jug fisherman and a 121.5-pound rod-and-reel world record in 2004. Lower Mississippi River is the portion of the Mississippi running from St. Louis to points south has produced dozens of blue cats exceeding 100 pounds, including a 116.75-pound former world record caught at West Memphis.
