Abstract

The article reports on computer games, interactive multimedia, and intuitive interfaces. The author posed that an important facet of viewer experience has been deliberately excluded in the design of various interactive works. The satisfactions gained by acquired experience are an essential aspect of the computer game experience, but unfavorable to the current understanding of effective interface design for nongame applications. He argued that this is a serious issue that debases the communicative and expressive possibilities of interactivity.
