Abstract
- This article focuses on China's preparations to host the Olympic games in 2008. The Olympics will open on August 8, 2008 in Beijing. On August 8, 2007, China held a celebration in Tiananmen Square with fireworks, dance routines and pop stars. There is controversy surrounding the Olympics stemming from human rights activists who disagree with China's support for repressive governments and there are protests outside the Olympic headquarters.
