Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between information and communication technologies and the return to human capital such as schooling and experience accumulated on the job with a specific employer. The United Kingdom Labor Force Survey was used in the study to estimate the returns to schooling and job-specific experience in sixteen different industry sectors, over the period 1994 to 2001. The study indicates that older generations have more job-specific experience than younger generations.
