Abstract

The education of physiotherapists in Canada has undergone two major changes over the past decades. The first was the move from a diploma credential to a baccalaureate degree and the second is the recent change to the master's entry-level qualification. Changes at the University of British Columbia (UBC) are typical of many programmes in Canada. The purpose of this paper is to capture the rapidly changing physiotherapy education environment in Canada, using UBC as an example and comparator for the 13, soon to be 14, Canadian physiotherapy education programmes.
