Abstract: The article discusses several reforms enacted in Sweden during 1979. One law permitted parents of children under eight years old to reduce their workday to six hours. Youths under 18 received aid from local school officials in finding work or occupational education. Subsidies were also allocated for employees' continuing education and those transferred to new locations.
