Abstract

The article focuses on the role of the Preprofessional and Graduate Student (PGS) Section of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). The aim of the PGS section is to provide for and to promote the professional development of preprofessional and graduate students of family and consumer sciences who are members of the AAFCS. Its membership in the Association is valuable being students, as it prepared them for the vast and diverse field of family and consumer sciences. In that readiness, the PGS has the opportunity to contribute to the mission of the profession, to improve the quality of individual, family, and community life through education, research, cooperative programs, and public information.
