Abstract
- The article discusses hegemony in nineteenth-century India. It discusses how the British colonizers, who were connected to powerful groups in Indian society, imposed their rule on the country with minimal force. It also discusses reasons why the British colonizers, despite using liberal education, did not achieve the intended level of hegemony.
