Abstract

The article reports on legal developments relating to procedural and miscellaneous developments in the field of marketing in the U.S. The author provides a list of advertising practices for which the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has devised regulations. The aforementioned practices include deceptive sales promotions, deceptive product demonstrations, and pyramid sales. The court case Gifford-Hill and Company, Incorporated v. FTC is mentioned in relation to a violation of the antimerger law. The FTC guidelines are outlined in the documents "Economic Report on Vertical Integration in the Cement Industry" and "Enforcement Policy with respect to Vertical Mergers in the Cement Industry."
